On September 30th, Central’s Girls’ Soccer team triumphed over their longstanding rivals, Franklin Towne Charter. The final score was 2-2, and though the score might not reflect the implications of the game, its meaning was not lost on the players. This game marked the end of a four-year winning streak FTC had over Central. Djavon Dupree (276) scored both goals, with assists from Romie Azor (276). Romie recognized the value of teamwork and that wins can not be credited to any specific person. The two-year captain had the following to say when asked what she credits the tie to: “I attribute the tie to all the girls on the soccer team for the hard work and dedication they have given to the team. Those who played worked well and were aggressive, while those who were not able to were still instrumental in supporting and guiding the team.” The team hopes to face FTC in the Public League Championship, this time coming out the victor.
