On Thursday, September 22nd, the girls’ varsity volleyball team played against Kensington, the team who ruined the Lancers’ season last year by upsetting them in the semifinals of the Public League playoffs.
The girls lost in a tough game, with momentum between both teams swaying throughout the event. They were down 0-2 but later rallied back to tie 2-2. Unfortunately, the girls suffered a loss of 2-3. The final set score was 16-14.
After the game, senior captain Rachelle Potente said, “I’m hungry for revenge. It was obvious the referees were against us the whole game. We are the better team and we will prove it when we face them again in the championships.”
The girls look to bounce back in their game against Olney on Tuesday, September 27.
