It’s 2017 already! Now what do these words imply? Well, if you embrace the new year with open arms I salute you, but for those whose reaction is a doubtful one there is no need to worry! To avoid any surprises, here is the tentative schedule of the major seasonal events of 2017 for Central folk.

Winter: Let’s start off with the 276 and 277 Lip Sync Battle on January 25th. Not only will it give students a 60 minute bell schedule, but seniors will be able to enjoy watching 276 destroy 277. On the week of February 6th there will be the AASU Showcase where the African American Student Union will dazzle the school with their song, intellect, and dance! On February 14th, Central seniors will be hosting the annual Blood Drive.

Spring: In the first week of March Central will have its famous International Day assembly where students learn about and appreciate the diversity of our school and cultures. On April 5th the Central Arts Department will be hosting their Spring production of the musical Sweeney Todd. Celia Hutton Johns (276), the stage crew captain, promises, “We just had the read-through for the show and the designs for the set are almost finished. The show’s gonna be great!” On April 28th, Juniors will have their prom and Seniors will be going on their class trip to Washington D.C!

Summer:Last but not least, June 8th is the special night where seniors come looking their best, Prom Night at ! Then most importantly, the time every Central student dreams of even when they are only freshmen, graduation! 276 will graduate on the 16th of June at the Kimmel Center. Hopefully these fun events will brighten everyone’s outlook on the new year!
