On April 13, 2017, Central Police Officer Charles A. “Quigs” Quigley passed away. Mr. Quigley was known for his service as a Vietnam Veteran and a retired Philadelphia Firefighter. In addition, he was an active Police Officer within the Philadelphia School District. He served as an officer in Central for six years, where he could be seen making wisecracks at the upperclassmen entrance, cheering on various sports teams, and enforcing a safe environment throughout the school. He celebrated his 69th birthday two weeks before he passed.

Quigs dedicated his life to his country, his community, and his family. He will be dearly missed by the Central community.
